MoD SBRI competition - Maritime Platform Efficiency & Sustainability
The Ministry of Defence’s Centre for Defence Enterprise is launching an SBRI competition for research proposals that will address the need of UK Maritime capability for affordable technology that can significantly reduce input demands (e.g. fuel), increase efficiency and reduce waste.
The competition is not limited to new or emerging technology and proposals using innovative, but existing, technology will be welcomed. Specific challenges to which solutions are sort are:
• Heat Management
• Platform Propulsion
• Novel Platform Efficiency & Sustainability
This call will launched at a one day seminar, hosted by CDE and DSTL, in Southampton on Thursday 26th January 2012. The event will provide an overview on maritime research priorities (morning session) and further details of the CDE call for research proposals (afternoon session). This event provides an opportunity for suppliers from across industry and academia to develop their understanding of MOD requirements and submit proposals that will develop and enhance capabilities.
